Survey finds majority of company car owners would consider an electric vehicle next: According to a recent automotive survey, the vast majority of company car owners would consider an electronic vehicle for their next car if their company gave them the opportunity. The survey of UK company car drivers also revealed that of the respondents who are not currently able to opt for an electric car, 69 per cent would choose electric if the option was made available.

The number of employees who would choose an electric car is higher amongst businesses who already offer electric vehicles, with 86 per cent saying that they would go electric next time.

In the 10 months to October 2016, more than 30,000 electric vehicles were registered across the United Kingdom. Of this figure, approximately 70 per cent were registered to businesses in the United Kingdom.

Data from the UK Government has revealed that 940,000 company cars are registered with businesses across the country, which highlights that there is a potential are for growth for electric vehicles.

The new market research findings were presented at the Go Ultra Low ‘Future of the Car’ Summit on the 7th November in London.

In response to the market research findings, the Transport Minister, John Hayes, suggested that low emission cars have a great potential to bring in a new era for road transport.

According to Hayes, the Government has committed £600m over the most recent parliament as part of their plans to make electronic vehicles a natural chose for drivers.
