A recent survey of 1,000 managers and employees, commissioned by the Institute of Leadership and Management, has found that more than one in three (37 per cent) employees in the UK are hoping to find a new job, in 2015.More than one in three people are considering finding a new job this year, market research finds

The findings reveal a change in employee retention, as approximately one fifth (19 per cent) of respondents divulged that they were planning on leaving their job in the same survey in 2014 – an 18 per cent increase.

As well as this, in 2013, just 13 per cent of respondents were planning on seeking a new job and 31 per cent were unsure whether to make the change.

The 2015 survey also revealed that a more diverse and interesting job role would entice them to change jobs.

The survey also highlighted that employees wanted not just a pay rise (56 per cent), but more opportunities for development (59 per cent).

The findings showed that 25 per cent of those hoping to leave their job in 2015, felt undervalued by their managers.

A further 30 per cent claimed that a higher quality of management would encourage them to accept a new position.

The survey also gave an insight about what the respondents would like outside of work, with 31 per cent wanting a role which allowed them to spend more time enjoying activities outside of the office.

Findings from the survey also showed that flexible working was a priority to 18 per cent of those who responded.

3 per cent of the sample were thinking of changing jobs for better parental leave options.
