Survey reveals what the UK loves to eat on Christmas day: A recent food and drinks survey by Asda has revealed what British peoples’ favourite food to eat on Christmas day is, and perhaps surprisingly it is not turkey.Survey reveals what the UK loves to eat on Christmas day

The survey revealed that the number one food to eat on Christmas day is roast potatoes, followed by carrots in second place. Following roast potatoes and carrots were turkey, gravy, stuffing, pigs in blankets, parsnips, sprouts, Christmas pudding and Yorkshire pudding.

When asked what their Christmas meal comprises of, the respondents said that they opt for turkey with all the trimmings, as well as lots of Christmas pudding, all eaten with family surrounding them.

On the other hand, at the bottom of the list was avocado, kale, spinach, chips and nut roast saunter.

The survey was conducted to mark the launch of Asda’s 2016 Christmas TV advert and revealed that December 5th is the date where the majority of the respondents put up their Christmas tree, Christmas decorations and watch the first Christmas film of the year.

According to the findings, the average British person will buy their first Christmas present on November 20th and will have their first glass of festive bubbles on December 7th.

The survey findings have also revealed that even with the recent increase in technological advances, most people with be having a traditional Christmas this year, with nearly 50 per cent of the respondents saying that they will wear a paper crown and a further 60 per cent saying that they will be sending their Christmas cards by post.
