Museum quarter tops the poll of tourist attractions favoured by Hull residents: The Museum Quarter in Hull is the place most enjoyed by Hull residents in a poll of favourite things to do in the city, with almost three-quarters saying it was their top choice.
Asked whether they felt Hull had benefitted from being the European City of Culture in 2017, 92 % those polled, agreed that it had.
The survey of 1,200 local people found the  Museum Quarter - a collection of four free museums - had been visited the most in the last two years, with 60% revealing they been there more than once.
Ranking as Hull's second most visited site was the Maritime Museum, with 69% saying they had enjoyed a day out there in the last two years, followed by The Deep with half of those polled saying they had been.  Just 12% of local residents said they had visited the Arctic Corsair (a deep-sea trawler that has been converted to a museum ship) and of those, only 32% were satisfied with the experience.
Visitor numbers for the Spurn Lightship (also a vessel in Hull Marina - that closed in June 2018 to be relocated) were also among the lowest, with only 12% saying they had visited the attraction in the last two years.
Sixteen percent of respondents confessed they had visited none of the listed museums.
