Magdalena joined the research team in January 2017. Her areas of specialism are education, including the university sector and educational technology, as well as media and digital technology.

She has a background in academic research, having conducted projects with children, young people, students, teachers, lecturers and parents. She is experienced in using qualitative and quantitative methods and has also used creative approaches to gathering insights, including visual methods and LEGO. Presenting findings in an accessible and visually appealing way is very important to her.

She previously worked as a lecturer and researcher at Manchester Metropolitan University, a self-employed research consultant, a project advisor for the Department for Education and a research officer at the London School of Economics. In these roles she worked on projects for, and with, organisations including BBC R&D, Ofcom, Guardian News & Media, RSPCA, Becta, Futurelab, Childnet International, Positive Steps Oldham and Alexandra Park Children’s Learning Community.

Magdalena has a PhD in Information and Communications from Manchester Metropolitan University and a Masters in Mass Communication Research from the University of Leicester.
