Group Discussions

Group discussions are a qualitative technique whereby respondents are recuited and invited to give their opinion on a specific topic (i.e. a product, service or proposal) in a group format. They can be carried out both online or in a physical setting, although the latter gives the researcher the opportunity to assess respondents' body langauge and tone as well as the words they actually use (online groups are often carried out in a typed format, although not always). For more information on group discussions, please view the focus groups entry in this glossary.

Market research group discussions are one of the qualitative techniques offered by DJS Research Ltd.
