Likert Scale

The Likert Scale is commonly used in market research techniques that involve questionnaires. When answering a Likert item on a survey, the respondent is gives their level of agreement or disagreement with a particular statement and responds in terms of a symettric agree-disagree scale. Normally, several Likert items pertaining to the same subject would be put together to give a Likert scale.

An example Likert Scale relating to Wikipedia can be found below. Each of the numbers 1-5 are an individual Likert item.
