Alex began his market research career in 2010 as a resource manager at a multi-lingual CATI fieldwork agency. In 2013, he moved into full-service research, working at Progressive Partnership, Breaking Blue and, since January 2021, DJS. In this time, he has been promoted from Junior Researcher to an Associate Director today.

His grounding in practical fieldwork management makes him a canny project manager with an eye for what works best. His research work has covered topics as wide ranging as print toner, pensions, and public trust in charity. He is an experienced project manager across the full range of quantitative research methods, be they online, postal, telephone or face-to-face. He also has extensive training and experience in conducting online and offline qualitative research with consumers, businesses stakeholders, and vulnerable audiences.

In 2023 Alex was promoted to Associate Director. His role allows him to express his creative and analytical sides, while still being able to roll up his sleeves and get hands-on with the practicalities of successful data collection.

His academic training covers both social sciences and humanities, gaining an undergraduate degree in Politics and Philosophy with first class honours. In 2007, he completed a Master’s in Research (MRes), over the course of which he was trained in the application of qualitative and quantitative research methods, as well as social semiotic analysis.

In 2019, Alex completed the Market Research Society’s Advanced Certificate in Social and Marketing Research. More recently he has delivered the syllabus for the Certificate to junior researchers as part of an MRS accredited centre.
