Sylvie has a background in providing museum, arts and youth outreach services in Leicester and Manchester inner city neighbourhoods, before she moved into a career in research. She now has over six years’ experience in research, specialising in the cultural, heritage and charity sectors.

Experienced in both qualitative and quantitative research, Sylvie primarily focuses on quantitative visitor research, audience development strategy, exhibition evaluations and online qualitative research. She is particularly interested in diversifying access to public sector and cultural services.

Examples of Sylvie’s work in cultural audience research include:

  • delivering long-term museums and galleries visitor research, for major venues including the British Museum, the Museum of London, the Natural History Museum, the Imperial War Museums and Swedish Historic Museums (Statens Historiska Museer)
  • delivering website and digital audience research for the State Library of Queensland
  • working alongside the Design Museum and the British Museum on formative paid-exhibition research, including working on the award-winning Moving to Mars campaign
  • delivering major paid-exhibition summative programme evaluations for the Barbican and the British Museum
  • delivering audience development strategies and market sizing for the Natural History Museum, Longleat Safari Park and Blackpool Museum
