Matt rejoined DJS Research in April 2023 after eight years at Ipsos where he worked in the Public Affairs division and led research on behalf of central government departments. He brings with him experience in delivering research projects across the public and third sectors and particular expertise in conducting research with vulnerable audiences, as well as large scale public consultations and engagement.
Matt graduated in 2003 and spent eight years in public sector consulting focussing on place regeneration. In 2010 Matt moved into market research and joined DJS Research and managed research across a range of sectors in both the public and private sectors, working with clients such as The Open University, the Competitions and Markets Authority, National Grid and United Utilities.
Matt moved to Ipsos UK in 2015 and built relationships with Transport for Greater Manchester and Transport for the North, as well numerous clients in local government. He led on large scale stakeholder and public engagement, firstly on Transport for the North’s inaugural Strategy and subsequently on behalf of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority to deregulate its bus network to introduce a new franchising scheme. He has specific expertise in devolution and levelling up and led numerous public engagement exercises which underpinned combined authorities’ bids for devolved powers and funding to central government. He also has experience researching vulnerable audiences having led research on behalf of the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities on experience of rough sleepers.
