DJS Research Shortlisted for Three Stockport Business Awards

DJS Research Ltd is delighted to announce it has been shortlisted for three awards in the Stockport Business Awards 2014, including the prestigious Business of the Year category. Danny Sims, Managing Director, said of the nominations: “We’ve had a great start to 2014 and hopefully we will go from strength to strength throughout the second half of the year.

“I’m thrilled that we have been shortlisted in three categories for this year’s awards. It’s great to see that everyone’s hard work is being recognised and that our input to the local community is being noticed. I’d like to wish everyone nominated alongside us the best of luck, and we’ll see you in October!”

The company’s nomination reinforces its solid start to 2014, with DJS’ stellar performance in the Crown Commercial Services framework a notable highlight.DJS Research is one of just six companies to be appointed to every available Lot, and achieved the highest combined score (836) of the 500 companies who submitted tender documents across all 10 Lots – almost 7% higher than the closest competitor.

In addition, internal investment has seen the company’s operations department expand in recent months, as well as Alexandre Tatry-Gautier, DJS’ international business development specialist, strengthening the company’s international portfolio across Europe.

Numerous high-profile client wins, including Hybu Cig Cymru, the Electoral Commission, the British Council and the Competition Commission, have also added to the company’s prosperous first half of 2014.

In addition to the company’s selection as a whole, Alasdair Gleed, Research Director, and Elliot Simmonds, Senior Marketing Executive, have also been shortlisted for individual awards.

Gleed, who has been shortlisted for Business Person of the Year, played a major role in the company’s Crown Commercial Services framework success, and has contributed to DJS’ exposure through numerous high-profile media appearances, including a televised interview with Prolific North, sitting on a panel discussing NHS leadership, equality and diversity, and presenting ground-breaking findings at the Research Changes Lives conference -  hosted by Booktrust and attended by numerous MPs and senior Civil Servants. Alasdair’s research has also been featured in a number of publications, including The Guardian, GovToday and LocalGov.

Simmonds, who has been shortlisted for Young Business Person of the Year at the age of 23, leads DJS’ digital marketing initiatives. He was invited to judge the 2014 UK Blog Awards and has also featured as a panellist on the Guardian Small Business Network’s PR and Marketing masterclass, as well as acting as a mentor to students from the University of Manchester looking to develop their business skills. In addition, Simmonds has developed DJS Research’s CSR initiative, forming a close connection with CLIC Sargent - the charity for children and young people with cancer, for whom he climbed Kilimanjaro in February.
