Charity work is hugely important to us at DJS and each year we ensure our partners are actively involved in deciding our lead charity for the year ahead. Everyone across the business is invited to put forward their charity suggestions and then all partners are asked to select their top three which go through to a final vote.

With so many worthy causes, meaning so much to so many people, it is always difficult when we then have to choose just one! But having a lead charity for the year enables us to build a really strong relationship with this partner, as well as concentrating our collective fund-raising efforts to maximum effect.

We are absolutely delighted to announce our charity of the year for 2024 is Blythe House Hospicecare and Helen’s Trust. This amazing organisation provides a wide range of invaluable free services to care for, and support, anyone in the High Peak, Hope Valley, Derbyshire Dales and North-East Derbyshire who is affected by life-limiting illness.

January sees the start of our fund-raising activities for our new charity with our annual ‘Get up and Go’ challenge and we’ve lots more plans in the pipeline including our infamous DJS charity bake-off.

We look forward to welcoming Emily Smith from Blythe House Hospicecare to our Strines office later this month, to bring the incredible work of this organisation to life for all partners and building a close relationship with this incredible local charity into 2024.

Speaking about our newly elected charity of the year, DJS Research Director Ali Sims said:

“I am delighted that Blythe House Hospice and Helen’s Trust has been voted our charity of the year. It is a charity which has supported several of our partners and their families over the years and I’m looking forward to working with the team there to raise as much money as we can for a great cause”.
