An annual vehicle reliability survey by industry publication Fleet News has seen BMW crowned as most trustworthy company car and Ford topping the van list.

The study asked FN50 companies to rank their best performing vehicles for reliability based on breakdowns and warranty claims.

BMW has kept its title as the most reliable car manufacturer, as well has having three models in the top 10. These were the BMW 3-Series which was voted best company vehicle, the 1-Series in eighth position and the 5-Series taking tenth place.

Managing Director of BMW UK, Tim Abbott, commented: “To have the BMW 3 Series crowned the most reliable company vehicle in a car park of nearly 600,000 UK cars is quite a statement, while no other manufacturer can boast three big-selling models in the top ten to take the honour of most reliable manufacturer. Following this news we will soon offer further initiatives for the corporate customer that will add to the ownership experience.”

Ford meanwhile was voted as the most reliable fleet van, with its Transit model winning first place and the Transit Connect Light coming in second. These top rated vans were followed by the Mercedes Sprinter in third position, knocking out Volkswagen who has now lost its title as the manufacturer of Britain’s most trustworthy vans.
