Survey reveals the 'best cars to own' in 2023

A survey has revealed the top 75 cars for 2023 as voted for by the people who own them: The 2023 Driver Power Survey looked at customer satisfaction levels in the new-car market. Thousands of motorists took part in the research that asked for feedback in a range of areas including interior and comfort, safety features, value for money and reliability and build quality. Three Kia vehicles featured in the top 10.
Taking the number one spot was the Citroen C4, with a satisfaction score of 93.39% and scoring highly in the categories of engine and gearbox; reliability and build quality; MPG and running costs; and safety features. Its best result was in ride and handling where it came in third place out of 75 vehicles. Its high performance across the board saw it scoop six top 10 places across all available categories. The only categories where it ranked in the lower half of the table was touchscreen sensitivity and visibility (59th) and visibility from the driver’s seat (68th).
In second place overall with a satisfaction score of 92.44% was the Kia Sorrento scoring highly for exterior, interior and comfort; safety features and infotainment, connectivity, and electrics. It dropped marks. however, for phone connectivity (37th position) and engine and gearbox, where it ranked in 72nd place.
In third position was the Lexus RX (92.15%), followed by the Dacia Duster (91.75%) and the Subaru Outback (91.73%) which was regarded highly for its practicality and reliability.
In the other half of the top ten was the Ford EcoSport (91.52%), Kia EV6 (91.5%), Toyota Prius (91.45%), Mazda CX-5 (91.36%) and the Kia Ceed (91.29%).
