Two-thirds of school teachers believe they regularly receive work written by AI, survey finds
October 2023 - Education
The survey was carried out by the education tech firm RM Technology. The research involved 500 secondary school teachers across the UK, 41% of whom believe there needs to be more regulations when it comes to AI. Nearly a third (31%) of the school staff who took part in the survey want the government to step in to put some restrictions into play - when it comes to using AI software for schoolwork.
A mirror survey using 500 students across the UK found contrasting results, with many students believing AI is a positive thing. Around two-thirds of the students surveyed (68%) believe they are getting better grades because of the technology. Nearly half (49%) said that removing AI would negatively impact their learning.
On the other hand, there was a percentage of students who stated they tend to avoid using AI because of a lack of social interaction, teamwork and problem-solving.
