The survey was conducted by IPSOS and Tetra Pak. It included 5000 participants from 10 countries across the world. Five thousand online interviews took place to collect the necessary data. The research took place to investigate peoples’ views on food and the environment.

The countries involved included Brazil, China, India, Germany, Kenya, Spain, South Africa, South Korea, the USA and the United Kingdom.

Further findings found almost half of the respondents across the ten countries interviewed said they have reduced their meat consumption or stopped eating meat altogether. As well as that, 47% of vegetarians from the UK stated the environment was their primary motivator for switching - this was the highest out of the 10 countries surveyed. Over half (56%) of all the global respondents cited health reasons for adopting a reduced meat diet.

When asked about who is responsible for the supply of healthy and environmentally friendly food, 62% of the UK respondents said the government is responsible for the supply of food. This is compared to a global average of 50%. Another finding from the survey is that 7 in 10 people said they would offer up their convenience to buy healthy products.
