Social Science Researchers Get New Online Community Resource
January 2011 - Information Technology
The UK based Academic Publisher Sage has now launched a cross-community network hub with the aim of connecting all industries that have an interest in social science.
Targeting researchers, funders, societies, policy makers, think tanks and the government, Socialsciencespace will provide access to blog posts, free videos, reports and slides, plus events listings for social science conferences and seminars occurring globally.
Global Publishing Director at Sage, Ziyad Marar, commented, “The argument for the importance of social science research and teaching has never been more urgent, and yet the voices making the case are disparate and thus somewhat diffuse in their impact. In launching Socialsciencespace we hope to help coordinate these energetic debates and to provide a necessary focal point, where academics, journalists, funders and policy makers can interact effectively.”
Launched in association with major learned societies and professional bodies across the world, the Socialsciencespace hub aims to champion the relevance and value of the social sciences. Contributors so far include individuals from the Academy for Social Sciences, the Institute for Education, the Institute for Government, the Metropolitan Police and the National Institute of Health.
