7 out of 10 Brits believe the UK should stop using Russia's oil and gas: A survey of UK adults has revealed that nearly 7 in 10 (69%) believe that continuing to use oil and gas from Russia is unacceptable and should be stopped -- even if it makes energy bills in the UK more costly. This is due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which began in February earlier this year.

However, 15% believe that the UK should carry on using Russian supply, while 17% were unsure, answering 'don't know'.

These were some of the findings of a survey to gauge public opinion on the war in Ukraine. The BMG research polled 1,742 GB adults online between 12th & 13th April.

When asked about the support, if any, that the UK could provide for Ukraine, the survey revealed that 62% of respondents think the UK should provide more medical supplies, with 58% saying they would like to see tougher sanctions imposed on businesses in Russia – as well as on individuals.

Half the respondents polled said they are in support of the UK sending more support to Ukraine in the form of weapons and other military equipment (51%), while 44% said that more refugees should be permitted to come to the UK. Enabling more international aid (37%) and supporting a 'no fly zone' over Ukraine (27%) were also selected by respondents, as was allowing UK citizens to fight in Ukraine (20%) and sending in British troops (14%)
