Survey Finds Increased Business Travel with Service Rated over Price

Market research by Avis Rent a Car has given rise to the prediction that UK business travel is poised to see a 27% growth during 2013, outstripping the 20% business travel growth reached 2011-2012 by an additional 7%.

Of the 2,500 European business personnel that were surveyed in the study, 50% said they travel on behalf of their organisation at least once a month, with 15% doing so weekly and 7% on a daily basis.

The most significant areas experiencing growth for business travel were found to be the developing nations in South America and Asia – these destinations have seen a 21% rise between 2011 and this year.

When asked what is most important to business travellers, the survey discovered that good service is valued above price – 20% of the respondents prioritised quality, 17% speed, 14% on-line booking, 5% loyalty offers and 4% were most keen on exclusive incentives.

In terms of UK respondents, this demographic proved to be the most loyal to a trusted travel brand, with 88% claiming they tend to use the same brand recurrently compared to a 76% average across Europe.
