We celebrate one year of being employee-owned with launch of our first Partners' Charter

5th October 2022 15:42

On a sunny day in September, we invited people from across the business to join us for a day of fun and celebration to mark our first anniversary of becoming employee owned.

The whole of company event saw partners from our Stockport and Leeds offices pack out the local pavilion close to our Strines HQ, alongside remote-working colleagues who had travelled from places as far away as Exmouth in Devon, and as far north as Glasgow (and everywhere in between!) to be a part of the festivities. We were even joined by our full stack developer, Sergio, who had travelled all the way from Spain!

The event was a great opportunity to share in-person time with colleagues and meet others who we may not have had the opportunity to before. As well as a few drinks in the late summer sunshine, we enjoyed fresh, oven-fired pizzas thanks to local restaurant, Woodstock Pizza (highly recommended!) before being allocated a team for a DJS quiz -- a bit of (very competitive) fun.

It was also the perfect day to launch our Partners' Charter — a handbook which outlines everything there is to know about employee ownership at DJS Research for existing employees (company partners), and new starters. The booklet includes things such as the company structure under employee ownership, ownership breakdown and governance, as well as highlighting our core values and vision for the future. It's also packed full of photos of our DJS team; the very heartbeat of the business and who the Charter is for!

Indeed, our EO Charter is a special document as it began its journey to existence in our Employee Voice meetings -- with EO Voice representatives sharing with us what their teams would like to see included.

Take a look at our celebrations below -- as well as some pages from our very first Partners' Charter.
