July 2011 - Public Consultation

A 2011 survey of British men and women has uncovered some interesting results about the differences in perspective between the gender divide.

SoFeminine.co.uk polled nearly 1,500 UK-based women and AskMen did the same with over 8,000 British males regarding what they thought about love, sex, relationships and the partner in their lives.

A total of 92% of women said they still believed in marriage, closely followed by 86% of men. In addition, the two studies found that men find a sense of humour the most attractive trait in a female over their looks, while women said their top rated quality in the opposite sex is to have a sense of nurturing and caring.

The traditional view of men being more judgemental and shallow than females when it comes to appearance was upheld however -  42% of men said they'd drop their partner if she got fat, compared to only 13% of females who would do the same.

When it comes to divorce, 76% of men said they thought that males get the short end of the stick in divorce court, while 45% of women thought both parties get fair and equal treatment.
