Survey Conducted by Trivago Shows That Brits Lead Hotel Booking Requests For The World Cup Period
October 2013 - Sport, Leisure and Tourism
The survey, conducted by Trivago – a hotel price comparison site – shows that British supporters are the ones looking for accommodation the most in Brazil during the period of the 2014 World Cup. Three tenths (29%) of foreign visitors looking for hotel reservations in Brazil for the 2014 World Cup are from Great Britain – Germans are second, corresponding to a fifth (22%) of booking requests made.
The United States came in third on the list, occupying just over a tenth (14%) of hotel booking requests, followed by France (7%), Sweden (5%), Finland & Australia (3% each), and Canada, who have no chance of qualifying.
Then, with 1% each in the survey was Belgium, Italy, China, Norway, Austria, the Netherlands and Ireland. Despite having already qualified and geographically neighbouring Brazil, Argentineans have not shown a lot of interest, obtaining less than 1% of booking requests made via the Trivago site.
Findings are based on data related to surveys conducted by the service’s users during the months of June, July and August 2013.
