Travel Survey Reveals Spain and Britain as Top Family Holiday Destinations

This year’s ABTA Consumer Trends Survey has found Spain remaining in top position as the number-one family holiday destination; however Britain is not far behind in the running.
Of the consumers polled on which country they thought of as the most family friendly destination for holidays, almost 20% voted for Spain. The country was also found to be the most popular with 35-44 year olds at 25%.
The UK was voted second in the survey for being the most family friendly location to holiday, particularly amongst the 55+ age group.
Other countries to make the top 10 list are the USA in third place, followed by France, Greece, Italy, Turkey, Cyprus, Portugal and Australia.
ABTA Chief Executive, Mark Tanzer, commented: “For many years Spain has been our favourite overseas holiday spot. One of the main reasons for this has been the amazing welcome and facilities that Spain and its people offer to families.”
He added: “All of the countries in the top 10 deserve our thanks and congratulations for the incredible holidays they have provided to British families for many years and will continue to for many more years to come.”
The study results, published today, tie into the Travel Convention organised by ABTA and currently being held in Palma Majorca.
