Zen Internet awarded best broadband provider in survey of users: A survey of broadband customers has found that Lanashire-based Zen Internet is the company whose customers are most satisfied overall, with the company showing a high level of performance in all areas.

The annual poll by broadband comparison site, Broadband Genie polled 4,337 UK broadband customers across the UK looking at areas of service such as value for money, customer care, value for money and how likely they are to be recommended by friends and family. 

Zen Internet scooped the top spot for most recommended provider with a satisfaction score of 87.4%, as well as 'most trusted provider', 'fastest superfast provider (downloading)' and 'fastest standard provider (downloading)'. It was also runner up in the best customer care category, fastest superfast provider (uploading) and fastest standard provider (uploading), according to customers who shared their feedback.  

Ranking in second place overall was Direct Save Telecom with a satisfaction score of 87.2%, followed by Origin (84.5%), John Lewis (79.7%), Three (79.2%) and Vodafone (78.3%). 

Many well-known providers ranked close to the bottom of the table in this year's survey, just above Yorkshire-based KCOM, which received the lowest overall satisfaction score (65.3%). Virgin Media was second from bottom with 68.8%, followed by Talk Talk (70.2%), Post Office (71.0%) and BT (71.1%). 

Direct Save Telecom, which ranked second for overall satisfaction was awarded the top spot for 'Best Value Provider', as well as 'Best Customer Care'.

Other winners included FTTP provider, Hyperoptic, in the categories of Ultrafast Broadband Provider for both uploading and downloading speeds. 

Sky Broadband was the Fastest Superfast Broadband Provider (uploading), reaching average upload speeds of 11,9 Mbps.

The 'Fastest Standard Broadband Provider' for uploading was Post Office, with a standard upload speed of 0.55Mbps.
