In its 16 year history, TAAS has attended over 40,000 missions between Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) and the Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA). It also runs the national Children's Air Ambulance, a service which facilitates the emergency transfer of seriously ill babies and children.
Speaking about her personal experience of the Air Ambulance Service, Jo, who is part of our CATI team said:
"The Air Ambulance were amazing and are a vital service for those living in and visiting isolated areas.
"I had an accident involving cows in a field earlier this year. The Air Ambulance Service waited a long time for the field I was in to be made safe enough for them to land. They had enough fuel to wait another minute, and then they would have had to return to base. The paramedics were professional and I felt that I was in safe hands. I remember the pilot giving me a thumbs up through the window before we took off.
"If I had gone to hospital in a 'normal' ambulance, I would have been in a lot more pain, for a lot longer.
"Our company, DJS Research Ltd, has selected Air Ambulance service as its nominated charity for 2021/22 to help raise funds so that the service can continue with its vital work."
The charity does not receive any government funding or national lottery grants and relies on voluntary donations, so it's great that we can lend our support as a company.
Thankfully Jo is now on the path to recovery and we look forward to having her back with her DJS friends and colleagues as soon as she is ready!
The Manchester 10K -
Kicking off our fundraising for the charity, Richard Yates (who works alongside Jo in our CATI team) ran the Manchester 10K for the Air Ambulance Service, achieving an incredible time of 39 minutes and 32 seconds and finishing in 106th place overall and in 6th position for his age! He has so far raised over £300 for the charity.

Kim Wright, Community Fundraiser at the Air Ambulance Service said of our new partnership with the charity:
“The Air Ambulance Service is delighted to have DJS Research on board as Charity Partner. The support DJS Research will be giving us throughout the year will help us to continue the vital, lifesaving work we carry out on a daily basis. We are very much looking forward to having fun, working together, raising lots of money AND having a great partnership throughout the year! Keep your eyes peeled for some great fundraising events coming up!"
