The Challenge

GradWeb is the UK’s leading graduate, entry level and volume recruitment specialist. GradWeb work with some of the largest organisations in the world to deliver their recruitment programmes – varying from  end-to-end provision to individual services including; - Recruitment advertising attraction, online recruitment systems, Assessment & Selection, on-boarding, Consultancy & Design and Candidate Management.  As competition increases for the best entry-level talent, employers need to benchmark their recruitment programmes effectively. To help employers GradWeb launched the Graduate Insights Report.

The Approach

The Graduate Insights Report is the first research of its kind to identify the key trends in UK Graduate Recruitment based on campaign data from multiple employers from different vertical markets including Engineering, FMCG, Telecommunications and Public Sector. The report is based on anonymised candidate data that includes applicants who are successful and unsuccessful, those from a wide range of backgrounds and with differing qualifications, and those applying to a number of different roles in different sectors.

GradWeb tasked DJS Research Ltd with providing them this data in a format that could be used actionably to create the Graduate Insights Report.

Initially, the anonymised data was transferred from several different files in to one larger selection with over 220,000 contacts contained within.  As part of t.his, the DJS data services team developed a complicated macro to aid in the production of data in a uniform format. This data was then cleaned – involving a process of de-duplication, and manually resolving any remaining anomalies.  The data was then prepared for analysis and converted in to data tables, ready to be returned to GradWeb. The data included top-line findings, and also a number of important breaks.

The Results

DJS Research supplied GradWeb with data in a clear and concise format that made it easy to review the information and produce the Insights Report. As the process is now in place, DJS Research will also be able to re-produce these results for future releases of the research.
