The British Water Survey: Northumbria Water rated top by suppliers: North East water firm, Northumbria Water has been rated the number one water company by suppliers in The British Water Survey 2018.

The company is no stranger to the top spot, with this being the seventh time they have achieved the accolade in eight years.

The annual survey, which started in 2003 so water companies could see how they were perceived by others in the industry, questions respondents across the entire industry supply chain. It measures satisfaction over a range of performance areas including communication, professionalism, attitude and innovation.

As well as scoring the highest figure of all companies overall (7.7 out of 10), Northumbria Water also got the top score in nine out of 10 performance categories.

Rated in second place was Anglian Water alongside South West Water,  both achieving a rating of 7.1.

At the lower end of the table were Welsh Water and Scottish Water, both with an average score of 5.8, and Southern Water at the bottom of the list with 5.6.
