Matt began his data research career in 2000 working at Research International and MORI, gaining analytical experience and working primarily in the consumer and government sectors. In 2005 Matt joined Quaestor Research and became Associate Director for the Research Technology division, where he was responsible for the operational delivery of technical projects and the management of a technical team. He was recruited by DJS Research in 2010 to increase operational technology in line with business growth.

He has worked across a broad range of sectors, with particular experience in the following areas:

  • Operational: Technology, Data, IT, Field, CATI, Reporting
  • Financial: HBOS, M&S Money, Britannia
  • Retail/ Consumer: ASDA, Hallmark, CO-OP
  • Media: Teletext, Channel 4, Telewest (Virgin)

Matt has experience of the full range of multi-modal research techniques and has been pivotal in the development and management of niche online communities, blogs and forums. Matt has over 13 years’ experience in Data Capture and analytical spec writing and has used numerous industry/survey software packages over this period. He has extensive experience of project managing complex ad hoc and continuous research, from analysing multi-country international trackers through to creating visually interactive online data capture programs.

Field and Data Services

Since joining DJS Research, Matt has focused on the development of the operations division, exponentially increasing service levels and the technology that currently underpins the research business. Operations now boasts dedicated research project managers, a large state of the art CATI unit (55+ Stations), 1000+ UK-based face to face market research field team, a dedicated qualitative recruitment team and a technical data capture / analysis team. As a result of this development, the Operations department has grown to be able to offer a standalone service to both end clients and agencies.

Matt knows the operational process of delivering field and tab projects to clients inside and out and, along with his project managers, has personal oversight of all projects for direct clients. As the Operations Director for the full-service side of DJS Research, Matt leads on much of the company policy documentation and is the Quality Manager responsible for the regulation of all company project work.
