The Challenge

DJS Research regularly assists Savills by providing empirical data in support of its planning application processes. Since 2009, DJS has conducted tens of projects in various regions of the UK, relating to proposed large scale developments and local residents’ attitudes thereto. As always, critical to the success of the projects is the accuracy of the data we produce, and the robustness of the methodological approach, with findings often being subject to legal scrutiny.

The Approach

Our approach to projects of this kind is slick and well-honed resulting in short lead times for deliverables. Savills approach DJS with a defined target region and a draft questionnaire, DJS then provides consultancy on the workability of the project, before conducting the fieldwork and returning cleaned data tables in a very short space of time.
  
Our work with Savills has been conducted using both telephone interviewing and face-to-face methodologies, with projects in the main being performed on a field and tab basis.
