Three-quarters of marketers say video is top priority, according to poll

Three-quarters of marketers say video is top priority: New research has revealed that video is the top priority for marketers over the rest of 2019 and 2020.

The research by Mondo polled over 1,000 creative marketers and digital decision makers and found three quarters (76%) believe video marketing will be their primary focus, with the majority selecting Instagram stories as their top video marketing tool/strategy (66%). This was followed by newsfeed videos (62%), Gifs (52%), cinemagraphs (31%), live streaming (28%) and IGTV (28%). 

While B2C marketers said they would use Instagram stories above newsfeed videos, B2B marketers ranked the latter higher.

Other top priorities for marketers were GDPR, with 55% of respondents citing  compliance in this area as a high priority, as well as Artificial Intelligence (41%), reactive design (38%), experiential marketing (31%) and micro-moments (28%).  Other marketing strategies chosen by respondents were motion design (24%) and visual search (21%), with just one in ten (10%) citing voice search as a priority. 

Search Marketing Trends

Looking at Search Engine Management (SEM), 86% said audience targeting will inform their paid search strategy most, with keywords (83%) and remarketing (76%) also featuring highly. Video was selected by more than half the marketers polled (55%) as well as interactive content (41%) and automation/AI (28%). 

The survey also revealed that 35% have, or are planning to optimise their websites over the coming year for visual search, however, only 17% are planning to do the same for voice search.
