In early October a group of DJS Research Partners, from our research and CATI teams, spent another rewarding day with pupils from Bramhall High School. The team were supporting Year 11 students by taking them through mock interviews; a process which we know, from our previous hands-on experience and feedback, can be hugely beneficial for all involved.

Bramhall High School Career’s Lead explained why it is so important for businesses to connect directly to students and provide real-world experiences:

‘The feedback from both students and interviewers was overwhelmingly positive, and the impact of this experience will be felt long after the final handshake. Opportunities like these don’t just build confidence - they help shape futures.’

This positive feedback was mirrored by the students who left feeling more confident, clearer about their next steps, and prepared for future interviews as demonstrated by these soundbites bite from the day:

I was slightly nervous before but by the time I was finished I felt much more confident

Our participation in the interview skill day is part of a close, long-term relationship we’ve built with Bramhall High School, facilitated by GMCA’s Career’s Hub. DJS Research Associate Director Vicky Mullis relishes her role as a Specialist Enterprise Adviser for the school - a voluntary position that is just one element of our organisation’s overall commitment to delivering social value.

And Vicky has definitely passed her enthusiasm on to colleagues! Speaking about his recent experience interviewing Year 11 students, Managing Director Al Gleed said:

"This was such a rewarding way to spend a morning. Each encounter was positive, and I could see how my involvement as an employer complemented the great work schools are already doing to support young people. The process definitely boosted their confidence and belief in themselves.”
