As we welcome in a new year we've been looking back at all we've achieved in 2018 - all thanks to our dedicated and all-round brilliant DJS Research team.
 
From building our ever-growing client base and winning prestigious industry awards, to bringing on board some of the UK's best research talent, we've seen our company bloom - and so have our clients judging by the feedback that we are getting! We've even reached new heights with a record-breaking annual turnover. So it's been quite a year for us.
 
Here are a few of our best bits...
 

Celebrating a historic milestone - and 12 years double-digit growth 

 
It's been a record-breaking year for DJS Research and we reached a new milestone recording a turnover of £5.2 million. This was a figure we once only dreamed about when the business began back in 2001 out of a garden shed! 
 
In 2018 annual turnover grew from £4.7million to £5.2 million and the business grew an impressive 12% on last year's figures. 
 
 
 

 

Attracting new talent

As the business continues to grow, so has our commitment to finding and hiring the best talent in the industry and 2018 has seen some brilliant people join the teams in Cheshire and Yorkshire.

Our city-centre Leeds office, which opened at the end of 2017 has had a great first 12 months, is growing quickly (with still more room to grow!) and has enabled us to take on a greater volume of client projects.

Developing our Employee Engagement Offer

In 2018 we welcomed Research Director, Jenna Allen who has not only brought a wealth of research experience to the agency, but has also been building our Employee Engagement department. Now our team of employee engagement and customer satisfaction specialists can deliver integrated Voice of the Customer and Voice of the Employee research programmes to businesses, helping them identify how they can improve customer satisfaction through employee engagement - as well as monitor their future engagement.
 
The full consultative service can help improve an organisation’s business performance through detailed employee insight.
 
 
 

Expanding our creative outputs

 
Our research outputs continue to impress and clients like the creative ways we display our findings, bringing their projects to life.  Our in-house data visualisation team are expert in producing short visual infographics and videos/animations to help illustrate key points, conclusions and recommendations for a wide variety of audiences - get in touch to learn more about what we offer! 
 
 
 
 
 

Charitable goings-on and community activity 


Being involved in the local community is important to DJS Research and our staff have given 100% of themselves in 2018 to help raise funds and awareness for Mental Health Charity, MIND, as well as local charity The Thomas Theyer Foundation, which we announced as our new Charity of the Year in September.

Back in May, MD, Danny and a team of determined (and slightly crazy DJS-ers) took on the Rat Race Challenge obstacle course, followed by an autumnal stroll over some little hills better known as the Yorkshire Three Peaks.

The total amount raised for good causes in 2018 amounts to an incredible £7,500.

Well done to all involved and a massive thanks to those who helped us raise funds for such great causes.

 
 
 

DJS Research in the national press

Our Water Matters research was making a splash in the national press earlier this year and became something of a national talking point across TV and radio. 

We've worked with a number of high-profile clients across a range of sectors including Cancer Research UK, National Audit Office and Leicester City Football Club.

Collaboration with the Research Academy 
 
In 2018, six of our Research Executives were enrolled on the Market Research Society's Advanced Certificate to help them achieve the top industry-recognised vocational diploma and further develop their market research skill set. They have made brilliant progress since September, and have benefitted from having our Senior Research Manager, Rebecca Green (also a Research Academy mentor) on hand to offer advice and encouragement where needed.
 
The collaboration with the Research Academy is something we look forward to seeing develop further in 2019 and beyond... 
 
 
 

 

Award-winning agency 
 
We were delighted to add to our treasured silverware this year... with gold! In November 2018 we won a prestigious award at the Football Business Awards 2018 alongside Leicester City Football Club for Best Fan Engagement Programme. Findings from the research we undertook earlier in the year quickly led to changes being made at the club to improve the match-day experiences of disabled supporters. It was phenomenal to see the efforts of all involved recognised at such a top-level - especially when faced with some pretty tough competition.
 
We also scooped the Bronze Award earlier in the year at the Sports Business Awards.  
 
 
Aura Awards
 
Being nominated by clients for an award will always be something to feel hugely proud of, which is why our nomination for a Trusted Advisor Award at the annual Aura Award Awards was a highlight of 2018. Celebrating mastery in market research and insight the award is given to an agency that truly understands client agendas and goes beyond the call of duty to help deliver.
