16 promotions and 29 new staff join our employee-owned company

17th January 2022 14:11

Last year was a great year for DJS Research! As well as becoming employee-owned in July and taking our first steps as a company with our staff as ‘Partners’, we also welcomed 29 new employees and awarded 16 promotions to hardworking staff.

Promotions occurred at all levels of the business, and we were delighted to be in a position where we could recognise the hard work and commitment of employees during such challenging times.

Research Team

Following almost a decade with the company, Alex McCluckie, was promoted from Associate Director, to Research Director, while Anthea Thompson became an Associate Director (Field Services) and Alistair Smith, Associate Director: Data Services.

We are also delighted that Alex Belcher, who joined us in early 2021 to work remotely out of Glasgow as a Research Manager, has been promoted to Senior Research Manager, as has Leeds-based Rachel Stonehouse.  Mark Byrne, Grace Middlehurst, Tanya Colbran and Jamie Lawson, were also recognised with promotions to Research Manager roles, as was Jack Watson.

Elsewhere in the Research team, Tatiana Alexeenkova  has moved up to Senior Research Executive, while Saffron Goodwin and Francesca Barker have been promoted to Research Executive.

Operations Team

We have also seen our Operations Team expand over the last year and promotions awarded, including Dan Thompson who is now a Senior Research Executive (Field and Data Services) and Mat Davies has progressed to a Data Executive role.

Former CATI Team leader, Nathan Alsop has been promoted to Senior CATI Executive, while Maddy McGuire stepped up to Field and Recruitment Executive, after a successful period as a Junior Field Executive.

On the move…

As well as staff well-deserved promotions, there have been a number of moves around the business, with Sarah Smith sidestepping from her Project Assistant role to head up our new JRE Programme as Training Lead, and Molly Davies switching from Data Support to Field and Data Services as a Junior Research Executive. Other moves in 2021 included Amanda Brightman from CATI to take a position as a Junior Field and Recruitment Executive and Nicola Shorrock also moving from CATI to take on a role as Project Assistant.

HR Manager, Lucy Pawson said of the promotions in 2021:

“In the year that the business changed structure and became employee-owned, it has been wonderful to have been in a position to promote so many of our hardworking staff as we continue to navigate our way through the pandemic. It says a lot about DJS recognising hard work and the commitment of employees and is a big achievement for the company.”
